The Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (MHRC) on Thursday has issued a notice to SP Raigad to remain present on Friday at Human Rights Commission Office by 11 am to show cause regarding the arrest of Republic TV's Arnab Goswami and present entire material records before the commission.

The move by MHRC comes after Advocate Aditya Mishra filed a petition before the Maharashtra Human Rights Commission against Arnab Goswami's arrest. He had called for urgent consideration of the matter.

Goswami and two others -- Feroz Shaikh and Sarda -- were arrested on Wednesday and sent to 14-day judicial custody by the Alibag district magistrate court in connection with Anvay Naik suicide case. A suicide note purportedly written by Naik alleged that Goswami had not paid him his dues.
