A 30-year-old woman allegedly beheaded her one-year-old son and committed suicide by jumping from a running train in Navi Mumbai’s Vashi on Thursday night. As per a TOI report, A home guard in the ladies’ coach was witness to the incident of the woman jumping from the running train with the bag in which the infant’s beheaded body was found along the tracks on Vashi creek railway bridge on Thursday around 10.30pm.

The woman was returning from her maternal house in Hadapsar, Pune, from where she had left at 4.30pm,” said Vishnu Kesarkar, the senior inspector of Vashi GRP. Kesarkar said the woman boarded the Panvel-CSMT train to reach Chembur.“Her husband works as a civil engineer and has claimed that she was mentally unstable and was under medication for the past five years. Prima facie, we have registered a murder case against the deceased woman and are further probing the reason for her taking such a drastic step,” added the police official.
