Five people died after a car in which they were travelling lost control and plunged into Jagbudi River in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district in the early hours of Monday, May 19. The accident took place on the Mumbai-Goa Highway when they were travelling from Mumbai to Devrukh. The driver of the car sustained injuries and has been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the accident took place around 5 am when a car fell 100 feet directly from the Jagbudi River bridge. The car was lifted with the help of a crane, and the bodies were later pulled out from the vehicle.

Meanwhile, a massive traffic jam occurred in front of Tulinj Police Station in Nalasopara East, Mumbai, on Monday night. An ambulance was stuck in the chaos and couldn’t make its way through despite its sirens blaring. As a result, the ambulance remained stranded on the road for some time.

The traffic jam significantly delayed ambulance response times. According to local residents, there is no traffic police presence on the main road at night. Unauthorised parking on both sides of the road hampers the smooth flow of traffic. The situation worsens due to the lack of a proper traffic management system. Although the Tulinj Police Station is nearby, no police personnel from the station assist with the traffic congestion, instead citing that it falls under the traffic police’s jurisdiction.
