Mumbai-Goa Highway Fire:A pickup tempo carrying eight LPG gas cylinders caught fire near Vashi Naka on the Mumbai–Goa highway in Raigad district on Thursday, January 22, 2026, triggering multiple explosions and causing panic in the area.
According to the media reports, the vehicle suddenly caught fire, and the blaze quickly intensified. The gas cylinders exploded one after another, and the pickup was completely gutted within minutes. The sound of the explosions was heard from a long distance, alarming residents in nearby areas.
Local residents moved to a safe distance and alerted the police and fire brigade. Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. The timely response prevented serious damage to nearby houses and populated areas along the highway.
