Restrictions have been relaxed since June 1 in 20 districts of MAharashtra with a positivity rate of less than 10 per cent, as corona infections are now rapidly declining after stricter restrictions.

As per the instructions of the state government, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation area announced the rules in this regard on Monday. All shops will be open till 2 pm except malls and shopping centers.

In Palghar, Vasai Gramin, Dahanu, Mokhada areas of Palghar district, shops like stationery, salon, electronics, photo studio etc. have been allowed to open on certain conditions.

Schedule announced for shops in Mumbai

The municipal administration has given permission to keep all the shops in Mumbai open from 7 am to 2 pm from Monday to Friday. Besides, other shops that have been permitted can function following an odd-even formula. In the first week of unlocking, shops on the right side of the road are allowed to open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The remaining shops i.e. on the left side of the road can operate on Tuesday, and Thursday. In the second week of unlocking, this arrangement will reverse. Those shops located on the left side will be able to operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday while those on the right can function on Tuesday and Thursday. 

Shops open in Thane district

The respective Commissioners and District Collectors of Thane district have given approval to start shops, establishments and industries from 7 am to 2 pm.

Navi Mumbai: In Navi Mumbai too, all the single shops except malls and shopping centers will be open from 7 am to 2 pm.

Raigad: The District Collector had not issued any order till late on Monday night. Therefore, there is an atmosphere of confusion among traders and shopkeepers.
