In the wake of Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami's arrest in a suicide abetment case, Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik termed Goswami's arrest as "Part 2 of India's Most Wanted".

Nawab Malik termed Arnab Goswami's arrest as "Part 2 of India's Most Wanted" and recalled the action against a TV crime show anchor who was charged with killing his wife.

Suhaib Ilyasi, who had become well-known after hosting TV crime show 'India's Most Wanted' was charged with murdering his wife in March 2000. He was, however, acquitted by the Delhi High Court in October 2018.

"Once upon a time there was a show called India's Most Wanted & the Anchor highlighted murders & suicides, the same anchor was held responsible for his wife's murder," Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik tweeted without naming Suhaib Ilyasi.

In another tweet he wrote in Hindi,"The way the ministers of the Centre are coming forward openly in support of a suicide accused, should the country accept that BJP supporters will be forgiven for killing some one?"

"Here is Part 2 of India's Most Wanted, another anchor doing the same is now responsible for suicide #ArnabArrested," he added on the micro-blogging site.

The journalist has been arrested in the death case of interior designer Anvay Naik, who allegedly died by suicide in Alibaug in May 2018. A suicide note purportedly written by Naik alleged that Goswami had not paid him his dues. Later, Goswami was also named in the FIR of Naik's death case.
