According to the Mumbai Regional Meteorological Department and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Emergency Control Room, winds will blow at 46 to 60 kmph in Mumbai throughout the day on Friday. And during this time, heavy rains will fall in most places. According to the meteorological department, 97 mm of rain was recorded in Colaba and 57 mm in Santacruz in the last 24 hours. It has been raining heavily in Mumbai since Thursday morning. The rain that has been continuing for the last four to five days will continue to lash the city for the next seventy-two hours.
For the next few days, there will be an orange alert for Mumbai and the Konkan coast, with winds of 50 to 60 kmph. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains on the 23rd due to possible low pressure area. The meteorological department has issued a red alert to the two divisions on Thursday. A red alert has been issued to Raigad and Ratnagiri districts in Konkan and Pune, Satara and Kolhapur districts in central Maharashtra. Orange alert has been issued to Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Sindhudurg, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded and Latur districts.
IMD has predicted that isolated extremely heavy falls are very likely over Konkan & Goa & adjoining Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Karnataka today, the 22nd July. Rains are expected in Marathwada for next three days. Heavy to very heavy rains are also expected in Mumbai. Mumbai has been given an orange alert on Thursday. For the next five days, the beach will be windy. Fishermen should not venture into the sea during this period.
