The school education department received 241 proposals for both new schools and extensions, out of which 127 have been sanctioned. The final list of recommended proposals will be submitted to the Ministry of School Education for approval, reported IE.

According to the report, among the new schools, 60 will follow the Maharashtra State Board curriculum, while 11 will be affiliated with the CBSE board, and one each will be under the ICSE and Cambridge boards. This expansion aims to provide diverse educational options and enhance access to quality education across Maharashtra.
