Mumbai University semester exams are postponed due to the Maharashtra Legislative Council, MLC elections. MU Semester exams which were scheduled to begin on January 30 are now postponed. Maharashtra MLC polls are slated to be held on January 30 for five seats.

Mumbai University has postponed the exam of 30 subjects which were clashing with the polls. As per the revised Mumbai University semester exam dates, the exam will now be held on February 7, 2023.

This is to be noted that the exam centre and time will remain the same. Mumbai University has rescheduled the exam in various domains including Law, Humanities, and Engineering among others.

As per the local media reports, the postponement of exams was demanded by Maharashtra's Union of Secular Teachers (MUST). The union also wrote a letter to the authorities on January 20, 2023.

The elections to the five MLC seats (two graduates’ and three teachers’ constituencies) are slated for January 30.
