A case was registered against 38-year-old Sunaina Hole in the Mumbai cyber department for allegedly sharing a morphed picture of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Twitter. The woman in her post on social media also abused Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray.

The accused has been booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC), including promoting enmity between different groups and acting prejudicially to maintenance of harmony and defamation.

The woman was releasd on bail on Thursday. Rashmi Karandikar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber), Mumbai Police crime branch said, "The accused is a resident of Navi Mumbai and was arrested on Thursday."

The arrest was made after a complaint by advocate Dharmendra Mishra, who is also a legal consultant of Shiv Sena.

In the FIR, Mishra alleged that the woman abused Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Aaditya Thackeray through a series of tweets on July 25 and July 28. Mishra further alleged that the woman also made some objectionable comments against the two.

Dharmendra Mishra also tweeted saying, "The woman in her Twitter bio describes herself as member of Bharat Niti, a group linked to Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Information Technology (IT) cell. The woman's objectionable post not only undermines the dignity of the chief minister’s post but also disturbs communal disharmony. This is an example of blatant misuse of freedom of speech."
