A shocking incident came to light which brings to light the deplorable state of civic amenities in the state. In this incident, a six-year-old boy dies after falling into an open sewage pit within the jurisdiction of the Wathoda Police Station. This tragic incident has evoked deep sorrow across the entire city and sparked outrage against the local administration. According to reports, the deceased child is identified as Danish Ayaz Ansari, aged six. Danish lived with his family in the Sharda Nagar locality of the Wathoda area. Yesterday evening, he went out to play in an open ground situated right next to his home. While playing, he suddenly lost his balance and fell into a deep sewage pit located on the premises.
Family started searching when deceased failed to return home even after a considerable amount of time. An atmosphere of anxiety prevailed as he could not be found despite an extensive search throughout the neighborhood. After searching for approximately two hours, Danish's lifeless body was discovered floating in the sewage pit within the ground. After being informed of the incident, Wathoda police arrived at the scene and conducted an initial inspection. The body was sent to a government hospital for post-mortem, and an investigation is ongoing. Danish's death has deeply saddened the Ansari family and brought sorrow to the community.
The child died at the scene from asphyxiation, having inhaled polluted pit water. Residents are demanding accountability from negligent officials and the immediate closure of all open pits citywide, asking how many more lives will be lost.
