Following the recent violence in Nagpur, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray has raised concerns, suggesting that someone within the government may be attempting to tarnish the image of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Speaking on the incident, Thackeray emphasized that Nagpur is the home city of both the Chief Minister and the state’s Home Minister, making the delayed police response particularly questionable.

He stated that, "When such incidents occur, and tensions begin to rise, it is crucial that intelligence reports reach the Chief Minister on time". Thackeray further remarked that ever since the formation of the current government in Maharashtra, multiple incidents have taken place including those in Beed and Parbhani. He also noted that sensitive information, such as leaked photos and reports, frequently surfaces in the media. "The real question is whether the Chief Minister is receiving these reports at all," he added, implying possible lapses in communication or governance.

Aditya Thackeray claims the BJP is deliberately causing trouble in Maharashtra to destabilize the government. He believes their goal is to create a situation similar to the unrest in Manipur, and to move industries from Maharashtra to Gujarat. Thackeray accuses the BJP of creating chaos in states without strong governments to distract people from real issues. He also suggests that some members of the current Maharashtra government, possibly within the ruling coalition, are working against the Chief Minister and the Home Department to damage their reputation and weaken Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis, indicating internal conflict.
