Constable Santosh Patil (47) of the Kharghar police station in Navi Mumbai, allegedly died by suicide on Monday night.
He allegedly hanged himself at his Kharghar residence when his wife and two daughters were at home, at 11.45pm, said Senior inspector Shatrughna Mali.
The cause of the suicide is not yet known.
On Sunday an assistant inspector had died by suicide after he shot himself at APMC police station in Navi Mumbai.
