Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar met Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray a day after Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut met BJP leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, sparking huge speculation and theories.

Pawar met Thackeray for 40 minutes at the Chief Minister's house, but what happened in the meeting is not known, news agency PTI reported quoting unnamed sources.

The two leaders may have discussed plans to further ease coronavirus safety guidelines as part of the "unlock" process that happens in phases, PTI reported. On Sunday, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that he met former Maharashtra chief minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday to discuss certain issues and that both of them could have ideological differences but there was no enmity between them."Sanjay Raut ji wanted to take my interview for Shiv Sena's mouthpiece Saamana. The meeting was held to discuss the same and I had put certain conditions, I wanted it to be published unedited. No political talks held during the meeting," Fadnavis told .

Bharatiya Janata Party leader said that his party "does not have any discussion with the Shiv Sena to form the government."
