Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana leader and former MP Raju Shetti has received an offer from NCP for the Governor's nominee in the state Legislative Council. Jayant Patil, the state president of NCP party, personally came to Shirol, where Shetti began his political career, and delivered Sharad Pawar's message to him.

However it is not sure whether Shetti will accept the offer or he will pass it to someone else. However, while making this offer the NCP insisted that Shetti should be nominated.

If not  Shetti, then the organization has Anil Madnaik, Prof. Jalandhar Patil, Ravikant Tupkar as alternative names. A total of 12 governor-appointed seats in the Legislative Council are to be filled. At least four of these seats could go to the NCP. A noted farmer leader like Shetty should be nominated for the Legislative Council, said Patil.
