The results of the medical entrance exam NEET was announced on October 16. In a first, Odisha's Soyeb Aftab and Delhi's Akanksha Singh secured 720 out of 720 which made them attain 99.99 percentile.

However, Vasundhara Bhojane, a student from Amravati, got zero marks in this examination. Bhojane was shocked to get her results last week and moved to the Nagpur bench of Bombay high court on Monday.

The result was shocking for Vasundhara, as she had been preparing for the exam for the past year. Vasundhara was expecting over 600/720 marks. Through her counsel Ashwin Deshpande, contended that she had an excellent academic record with 93.4% in class 10th and 81.9% in class 12th. She said it was likely she got zero marks due to a technical discrepancy. Bhojane sought revaluation of her answer sheet. Her counsel demanded directives to National Testing Agency (NTA) to produce the original copy of her Optical Marking Response before HC and an interim stay on medical admission process, pending the petition

In this case, Justice. A. S. Chandurkar and Justice. N. B. Suryavanshi has issued a notice to the NTA, the organizer of the examination, has directed them to submit their replies by October 26. NEET exams were held in the country on September 13 and October 14.
