Negative RT-PCR report no longer needed for flyers from Maharashtra arriving in Delhi

There is a good news for air travellers from Maharashtra. Air travellers from the state will no longer have to carry a negative RT-PCR test report when they land at the Delhi airport, officials said.

In April this year as second covid wave hit the country, the Delhi government had made it mandatory for travellers from Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to carry a recent RT-PCR report, showing zero Covid-19 infection.

“As per the latest guidelines, RT-PCR report is not required for domestic arrivals from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” said a Delhi airport official.

Flyers, who did not carry a negative report, were required to undergo a 14-day quarantine routine. SpiceJet said, “Delhi-bound passengers from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are not required to carry a negative RT-PCR test report anymore. Please refer to the detailed state-wise guidelines before your travel date.”
