A team of the Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad arrested a 45-year-old man, believed to be a regional committee member of the banned CPI (Maoist) from Jharkhand, after raiding a chawl at Dhanvi in Ramnagar in Mumbai's Nalasopara area early Sunday.

The arrested man, Karu Hulas Yadav, is a native of Dodga village in Katkamsandi tehsil, Hazaribagh district in Jharkhand.According to sources in the ATS, Yadav has been active in CPI (Maoist) since 2004 and carried a bounty of Rs 15 lakh on his head. Yadav had come to Maharashtra for medical treatment. Jharkhand Police has been informed about the operation
