A major fire broke out at the plastic company in champion compound near Palghar, Nalasopara east on Monday March 9, 2026. Following the fire a thick black smoke spreading in the area. As per the NavaRashtra who reported that due to the plastic material, fire spread quickly within and a large plume of smoke surrounded in area. 

As per the media report, fire took place at 12:45 pm and fire department reached at the spot to douse of the fire. Fortunately no casualties were reported due to the fire, the report stated that three shops reportedly nearby were burnt to ashes due to the massive fire.

Currently, the exact cause of the fire is not known.
