A major fire broke out at the Durian Furniture manufacturing unit in the Palghar CIDCO industrial colony on Monday afternoon, February 2. The blaze gutted furniture materials, leading to monetary loss for the company.
While the financial loss is expected to be significant, a potential tragedy was averted as local authorities successfully evacuated a nearby hostel housing children from the Tribal Development Department, according to the information.

The blaze erupted at around 1.15 pm and rapidly spread throughout the whole go down due to large wooden flammable material within the factory. Thick plumes of black smokeare visible from several kilometres.
