A 16-year-old girl from Palghar district, Maharashtra, has bravely come forward with allegations of repeated sexual assault by her brother and uncle. The abuse reportedly occurred between October and December of last year.

The situation took a darker turn when the girl became pregnant, and her uncle allegedly forced her to undergo an abortion at a medical facility in Grant Road, Mumbai.  Following the girl's complaint, police in Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar have arrested her 18-year-old brother and uncle.

They face charges of rape, causing miscarriage without consent, and criminal intimidation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
