Complaints against senior IPS officer Parambir Singh, who has been embroiled in controversy and allegations of corruption, are on the rise. In particular, the complainant has alleged that half of the amount was recovered from his then government bungalow in Thane. Also, a plot of land worth Rs 8 crore in the name of the complainant's mother was forcibly sold at Rs 1 crore only.

A case has been registered against Parambir along with the then Deputy Commissioner of Thane Criminal Investigation Branch and presently Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai Economic Crimes Branch Parag Manere and three others. The other accused are Sanjay Punamia, Sunil Jain and Manoj Ghotkar. Builder Sharad Muralidhar Agarwal has filed a case against him at Kopri police station, crime number - 176/2021 at Kopri police station in Thane city police commissionerate.

On the night of 23/07/2021, a ransom of Rs. 2 crore was demanded from the complainant Sharad Agarwal on the charge of forcibly transferring lands. Sharad Agarwal has complained that Parambir Singh, DCP Parag Manere, Sanjay Punamia, Sunil Jain and others and have accused them of extorting Rs 2 cr from him.  An offense has been registered under various section 384, 385,388,389, 420,364A, 34 120B of the IPC. 

This is the second extortion FIR against Parambir Singh in the last two days. Before this, he was booked under atrocities act sections also.
