Parth Pawar, son of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, took oath on Thursday, April 9, as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He was elected unopposed in the recent Rajya Sabha elections. The oath of office was administered by Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan in New Delhi.
NCP national president and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar was present during the ceremony, along with MPs Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel. Parth Pawar took the oath in English.
Parth Pawar's appearance during the ceremony also drew attention, as he was seen wearing a pink jacket similar to that often worn by his father, Ajit Pawar. His overall look sparked discussion, with many noting the resemblance to his father. This marks Parth Pawar’s first entry into Parliament, seen as strengthening Maharashtra’s representation at the national level.
