The suicide of Pooja Chavan in the Wanwadi area of Pune had created a stir in the state. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Rathod had to resign from his post as Forest Minister over his alleged connection with the suicide case. After that, it has come to light that now Pooja Chavan's parents have recorded their statement with the police. "We have no complaints against anyone," said Pooja Chavan's parents. This information has been given by Namrata Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone Five. "We are still investigating the matter," she said. But now that a clean chit has been received from the police, there is a lot of talk in political circles that Sanjay Rathod might be reinstated as a minister.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil has made a big statement on the Sanjay Rathod case. In Pune, Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil spoke to reporters. On this occasion, he commented on various developments in the state. In the case of Pooja Chavan, Valse Patil said, Pune police is investigating the case of Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Rathod. So it has nothing to do with giving a clean chit.

Rathod had claimed in a press conference that he had nothing to do with the issue, but had clarified that he was resigning as the Opposition had taken a stand not to continue the convention. He had come to Mumbai and resigned on February 28. On February 8, Chavan had allegedly jumped off a building in Pune to end her life. Hailing from Parli town in Beed, Pooja had gone to Pune for an English speaking course. A couple of days after her death, some of her audio clips went viral on social media which the opposition took up and pointed fingers at the Maharashtra Forest Minister Sanjay Rathod, demanding an investigation into the case. The BJP has alleged that Rathod is connected with the mysterious death of the woman in Pune. However, Rathod had denied all allegations.
