The Brahmin community has taken an aggressive stance on the controversial statement made by NCP leader Eknath Khadse on former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis.

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Eknath Khadse recently resigned from the party and joined NCP. "I donated the Chief Minister's post to a Brahmin (Fadnavis)," he said at a function.

Pune-based outfit, Akhil Bhartiya Brahman Mahasangh Brahmin Federation has objected to Khadse's statement and demanded an immediate apology.

Anand Dave, a key member of the Pune-based outfit, said that the statement made by Eknath Khadse while criticizing Fadnavis about the Brahmin community should be withdrawn, otherwise Khadse will not be allowed to hold any event in Pune.

Khadse had sent his resignation to BJP's Maharashtra president Chandrakant Patil wherein he declared: "I am resigning from the primary membership of BJP due to personal reasons."

Khadse has been constantly criticizing Devendra Fadnavis since he joined the NCP. He has also alleged that he was harassed by Devendra Fadnavis.
