Pune City Police have registered a case against Manorama Khedekar, mother of former IAS trainee officer Puja Khedkar, at Chaturshrangi Police Station. She has been charged under Sections 221, 238, and 263 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case originates from a road rage incident in Navi Mumbai, where two unidentified men allegedly abducted the helper of a truck driver and transported him to the residence of Manorama Khedekar in Pune. When Navi Mumbai Police traced the suspects to her bungalow, she reportedly blocked their entry and attempted to aid the accused in escaping from police custody.

The incident unfolded late Saturday night in Airoli, Navi Mumbai, after a collision between a mixer truck and a car. Following the accident, two occupants of the car allegedly forced the truck driver’s helper, identified as Pralhad Kumar, into their vehicle and drove him away. A complaint regarding the abduction was promptly registered at Rabale Police Station. Senior Inspector Balkrishna Sawant immediately launched an investigation and managed to obtain the car’s number through CCTV footage. Acting swiftly, a team of Navi Mumbai Police tracked the vehicle to Pune within hours and proceeded to locate the kidnapped victim.

Authorities took custody of the car linked to the incident, while further inquiries began regarding the identities of those present inside the vehicle at the time of the accident and kidnapping. During the operation, Manorama Khedekar allegedly created hurdles for the police, attempting to prevent officers from carrying out their duty. As a result, she has also been named a co-accused in the case.
