Fire broke out at Terminal 1 gate of Serum Institute of India in Pune on Thursday. Efforts are on to control the fire.

At least 10 fire tenders were rushed to spot to douse the flames. Police and local administration officials have also reached the site and rescue and relief operations have been launched. 

The SII's first Covid vaccine is developed from the masterseed of AstraZeneca/Oxford University's vaccine against the disease called Covishield. It was approved by India's drug regulator on January 3 for emergency use authorization alongwith Bharat Biotech's Covaxin.
