After three days of investigation, police have arrested Dattatray Gade, the prime suspect in the rape of a 26-year-old woman on a Shivshahi bus at Swargate bus stand. The case has sparked strong political reactions, particularly over comments made by Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam.

During a press conference, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the arrest, stating that Gade had been in hiding but was tracked down using advanced investigative techniques. He emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that further details will be disclosed at the appropriate time.

When asked if the case bore similarities to the Akshay Shinde incident, Fadnavis urged against premature speculation, stressing the importance of relying on concrete evidence. He assured that Pune police are conducting a thorough investigation, with technical and forensic evidence already gathered.
