Pune: Thieves trigger explosion, loot ATM in Pimpri Chinchwad

A shocking incident has come to light where an ATM machine was blown up in the Chakan MIDC area within the limits of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. The incident took place at midnight and the blast has created panic in the area. Meanwhile, thieves stole the money from the ATM and planted a bomb. The impact of the explosion was huge as glass door of the ATM room was blown away.

According to the information received, Hitachi has an ATM near Ambathan village in Chakan MIDC area of Pune. There was a sudden explosion in that ATM at midnight. The blast at the ATM center has caused a stir in the area. Police have said that the blast was caused by a specific type of explosive.

The blast impact shattered half of the ATM machine and broke the glass door. While some of the money was thrown out of the machine due to the explosion, some of the money is safe in the undamaged area. But, it is not yet understood how much money was in the machine and how much was stolen. Meanwhile, senior officers of the Chakan police station, a dog squad as well as a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad have arrived at the spot to find out the exact cause of the blast.
