Pune: Two children drown while rescuing mother

Two kids died while trying to save their mother who had jumped into the water stored in a mine outside the village after she had a fight her husband.  The incident took place at Pimpali (Tal. Baramati). The mother who jumped into the water was saved by her husband.

Police Inspector Namdev Shinde gave more information about this incident. The incident took place around 3 am on Saturday (29). Atul Suryavanshi and Anjali Suryavanshi (both from Pimpali, Tal. Baramati) from Pahate had a fight.

The woman decided to commit suicide out of anger and went towards the mine water at Pimpali. Arriving at the mine site, the woman jumped into the mine water. However, at the same time, her two children Divya (age 4) and Shaurya (age 2) followed her. The two kids fell into the water one after the other in an attempt to save the mother.

At the same time, husband Atul jumped into the water to save his wife and pulled her out of the water. But both children drowned in the water. The father could not save his kids. Baramati city police has registered an accidental death in the case. The bodies of the two kids were brought to Silver Jubilee Hospital for autopsy.
