Raigad: Heavy Vehicles Barred on Alibag–Revdanda Stretch During Peak Hours Amid Holi Rush

Mumbai: Ahead of long weekend to avoid congestion, heavy vehicles will be banned on the Alibag–Kurul–Sahan–Bypass–Revdanda stretch during the peak hours . This restriction will began from February 28 to March 2. This steps are taken by Raigad district administration to prevent congestion during the Holi and Dhulivandan weekend rush.

As per the FPJ report, these restrictions are issued by district Collector, Raigad–Alibag, will remain in force from 9 am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 7 pm due to ongoing cement concreting work on the Revdanda–Alibag Road. As Holi festival fell during weekend authorities are expecting significant surge in traffic towards Konkan region as the festival coincidence  with Saturday and Sunday, leading to an extended holiday.

Raigad's District Traffic Branch has announced a ban on heavy vehicles on the Alibag–Kurul–Sahan–Bypass–Revdanda route during specified hours. Mumbai–Goa Highway commuters heading to Konkan are advised to use the Khopoli–Pali–Nizampur–Mangaon–Mahad route due to frequent bottlenecks between Indapur and Mangaon.  Tourists traveling to Revdanda and Murud should use alternative routes via Nagothane–Bhise Ghat–Roha–Chandera–Revdanda–Murud or Kolad–Roha–Chandera–Revdanda–Murud to avoid delays. Motorists will be guided by advisory signboards installed at Wadkhal, Nagothane, Kolad, Roha, Revdanda, and Murud.

Raigad police have implemented timed restrictions on heavy vehicles and deployed additional officers to manage increased traffic heading towards Konkan for the Holi weekend. They urge citizens to follow traffic advisories, use alternative routes, and cooperate with police to ensure smooth and safe travel.
