Gym owners in Maharashtra demand from the state government to allow reopening of gyms as it has been closed for nearly four and a half months. Gym professionals and bodybuilders met MNS president Raj Thackeray in Mumbai to take up the issue with the Thackeray government . "Open the gyms, let's see what happens," said Raj Thackeray to the gym owners.

"I also had a talk with the Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis. He also said that gyms in the state should reopen. Now I am saying, reopen the gyms, whoever wants to come, will come to the gym. Let's see what happens, ”said Raj Thackeray after meeting the gym owners.

“How many days are you going to spend in lockdown? Everyone should take care of themselves and people around them. Centre has issued the guidelines just follow them”, appealed Raj.

Raj also questioned the state government's logic behind not opening the gyms as the centre has allowed them to function. Further the MNS chief questioned the gym owners on what precautions they would take after re-opening the gyms.  To which the gym owners responded that they will follow the guidelines needed to maintain social distancing, among other protocols to ensure that the coronavirus does not spread further owing to the reopening of the fitness centres.
