In a recent session of the Maharashtra Assembly, BJP MLA Ram Kadam made strong statements regarding the investigation into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Kadam accused the Maharashtra government, particularly the Shiv Sena UBT and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), of mishandling the case, questioning why it wasn’t handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from the beginning.

While speaking in assembly Kadam said, "Sushant Singh Rajput died in a flat. The furniture was removed and the flat was painted to hide evidence. Shiv Sena UBT & Sharad Pawar party spokesperson speaking in favor of Rhea Chakraborty. Why they have not given this case to the CBI from day one? They gave this case to CBI when all evidences were  removed..."

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020, and his death was initially ruled a suicide by hanging by the Mumbai Police. However, various theories emerged, and many questioned the circumstances surrounding his death. The case quickly became a topic of national debate. The CBI took over the investigation in August 2020 following a Supreme Court ruling and has been probing the case for several years now, but no conclusive answers have yet been provided.

On March 22, 2025, the CBI submitted a closure report to the Mumbai court regarding the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant was found dead at his residence in 2020, and while his death was initially ruled a suicide, many raised questions about the circumstances. According to sources, no concrete evidence was found in the case, leading the CBI to submit the closure report. The report suggests that the case be closed. Sushant's family had previously raised concerns about the possibility of foul play, claiming that there was a conspiracy behind his death. The court will now decide whether to accept the closure report and close the case or order further investigation by the agency.
