The Maharashtra government will organise a coordinated drill in all schools across the state on patriotic songs on Republic Day 2026. Speaking to the media, Education Minister Dada Bhuse said, "After the conclusion of the official Republic Day, January 26, a coordinated drill will be conducted in all schools across Maharashtra on patriotic songs. Students from all departments, all types of schools, all mediums and all language backgrounds will participate in this exercise."
Bhuse, during a video conference meeting with government officials, said the mega drill will be conducted with great enthusiasm in all schools, with respect to language and directed officials to complete all preparations in advance and to plan the event on a scale that reflects its global outreach.
Bhuse asked officials to ensure that the school teachers and students do not face any inconvenience while organising the drill. He said full publicity should be given to the programme through electronic media, newspapers and All India Radio.

During the meeting, the Education Minister also reviewed preparation for upcoming state board examinations, including SSC and HSC, which are scheduled to begin from February 10, 2026. He stressed that students should be able to appear for the examinations in a fear-free and pleasant atmosphere.
