Restaurant, bars and eatery outlets in Maharashtra are likely to reopen from first week of October.

The Maharashtra government has prepared guidelines for starting the restaurant, bars and eatery outlets and sent them to various associations representing hotels and restaurants and it is expected to be finalised soon.

After its finalization, a decision will be taken to start the restaurant, said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray while discussing with the representatives of restaurant business associations in the state.

The Chief Minister was speaking to representatives of restaurant business associations in Aurangabad, Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur in the state today. The Chief Minister said that compliance with SOP, cleanliness, safety, observance of physical distance is the recipe for a restaurant. It will be the responsibility of the restaurant and hotel operators to ensure safety of the customers and staff members in the wake of the pandemic.

Industry leaders -- HRAWI and AHAR -- have welcomed the decision which they said will help them to regenerate the employment that was stagnant since the last seven months of lockdown.

“We thank the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who today assured us that Restaurants will be allowed to reopen in the first week of October 2020,” tweeted Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI).
