The NIA has found a diary from the house of Vinayak Shinde, an accomplice of suspended police officer Sachin Vaze in the Mansukh Hiren murder case, based on which the Hiren murder is likely to be solved.

On the other hand, the ATS has also said that a CCTV investigation at the Mumbai police headquarters could uncover the secrets behind the murder of Mansukh Hiren and the car full of explosives found outside Mukesh Ambani's house.

According to ATS sources, Mansukh Hiren's murder would have been solved earlier, if Mumbai Police had co-operated properly. A senior official in the Maharashtra ATS said the case would have been uncovered earlier, but the Mumbai police headquarters did not allow us to check the CCTV footage. We had also sent four letters to the then Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh, but no reply was received from him. So this case became even more complicated.

The ATS had also asked for CCTV footage from 45 days before and after the incident on February 25 while investigating the explosives outside the Antilia bungalow. The ATS had received information that the Scorpio car packed with explosives found outside the Ambani residences had been brought to the Mumbai police headquarters between February 19 and February 21. So it was likely to be revealed after checking the CCTV footage. But the ATS did not receive orders to check the CCTV footage, the Navbharat Times reported.

According to the NIA, a diary was found at Vinayak Shinde's house containing information about the recovery, including the names, addresses and amounts of 30 pubs and bars, which were handed over to him by Sachin Vaze. The diary lists monthly amount that was fixed for the bars and clubs to pay. It is also being reported that Vaze used to pay a commission to Shinde. The names of 32 clubs, bars and lodges are in it, officials said.

According to sources close to the Mumbai Police, Shinde wanted to collect Rs 2 lakh every month and deliver it to Sachin Vaze. Whenever the police were raiding any beer bar, illegal business, Vaze would call and ask those arrested to be released.

Sachin Vaze had a rule of taking security deposit of lakhs of rupees from illegal traders. This included many businesses from cricket bookies.
