Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam has raised concern over the behaviour of Bihar and Maharashtra Police in investigating Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. He slammed police of both states saying 'some kind of' competition appears to have going on between them to beat the other in solving the case. "The way police of two states investigating Sushant Singh Rajput's death case are behaving on the streets of Mumbai is looking ugly. Mumbai and Patna police are vying to beat each other. The Mumbai Police were seen pushing the Patna police officials inside their police van. It appeared that instead of an investigation, there was a competition going on between the police of two states," the former Maharashtra Congress president tweeted in Hindi.

In another tweet he wrote, "Sushant Singh's death being investigated separately by the two state police appears to be strange. If the Mumbai Police is adamant, it would be better the Bihar government writes to the Centre and demands a #CBI inquiry into the matter. At least the investigation will find a direction and public sentiments will be respected. Most importantly, justice will be served to Sushant."

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray slammed the demands for a CBI probe by the Opposition and some Bollywood personalities in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai residence on June 14. A case was registered by the Mumbai Police and is being probed.

According to the Mumbai Police, statements of 41 people, including filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, film critic Rajeev Masand, director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and filmmaker Aditya Chopra have been recorded in the investigation so far.
