Satish Bhosale, a BJP worker and close aide of Beed MLA Suresh Dhas, has been arrested in attempt to murder and other cases from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra Police said on Wednesday. Bhosale, also known as `Khokya', had spoken at length to some news channels over the last few days even as he was on the run.
In response, Suresh Dhas commented, "This is a very positive development. He has been arrested for the wrongs he committed, and the law will take its course. There is absolutely no truth in the allegations made by the opposition against me. I have not called any police officers. From the very beginning, I have been advocating for his arrest. If he has done wrong, the law will take action accordingly."
Recently, a video where he and his gang members were purportedly seen assaulting a man with a cricket bat had gone viral. The police registered a case after the victim filed a complaint. The following day, a viral video showed Dilip Dhakne and Mahesh Dhakne, a father-son duo, being assaulted. Two cases were registered at the Shirur police station in connection with this incident. Shortly after, the Forest Department raided Khokya's house, discovering dried meat and hunting equipment. Khokya had been a wanted criminal in all these cases, and today, he was finally arrested. Police Superintendent Navneet Konwat confirmed this information.
