A double murder recently rocked Sai Nagari, Shirdi, as two workers of Sai Sansthan were attacked by unidentified assailants. The victims were on their way to work in the early hours when they were targeted at two different locations and killed. While the town is still reeling from the gruesome incident, a fresh case of robbery involving a Sai devotee has now come to light, raising concerns over security in the area.

A group of seven to eight unidentified person robbed a Sai devotee at gunpoint in Kopargaon taluka. The accused, armed with firearms and sharp weapons, intercepted the victim’s vehicle at Barapur Shivara and looted valuables before fleeing the scene.

The complainant, identified as Mohit Patil, hails from Surat, Gujarat. On the day of the incident, he and his colleagues were traveling to Shirdi in an Ertiga car to seek Sai Baba’s blessings. As they passed through Lasalgaon and reached Barapur Shivara, another vehicle began chasing them. The assailants eventually blocked their car and carried out the robbery.

Seven to eight armed person then exited their car, threatening Mohit Patil with guns and sharp weapons. They forcibly stole gold and silver ornaments, mobile phones, and Rs 1,800 in cash. After the shocking robbery on a busy road, Patil filed a complaint at the Kopargaon taluka police station. A case has been registered against eight unidentified suspects, and the police are actively searching for them.
