The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Ajit Pawar, will celebrate 'Swarajya Week' from February 19 to 27, hosting a series of events to commemorate the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

NCP spokesperson Anand Paranjpye announced that the 'Swarajya Week' event will kick off on February 19, with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar launching it at Shivneri Fort, state unit chief Sunil Tatkare at Padmadurg Fort, and Minister Aditi Tatkare at Raigad Fort.

Addressing a press conference, he said, "As part of Swarajya Week, various programmes will be held from February 19 to 27 under the tagline 'To The People's State, The Jijau's Shivba's State'. During the week, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, Sant Gadge Baba Jayanti, and Marathi Language Day will be observed. We will showcase Maharashtra's pride and prestige."

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, marking the 395th birth anniversary of the legendary Maratha warrior and founder of the Maratha Empire, will be observed on February 19, 2025. Shivaji Maharaj (1630–1680 C.E.), born to Shahaji Bhosale and Jijabai near Junnar in Pune, Maharashtra, is celebrated for his military strategy, visionary leadership, and the establishment of Swarajya (self-rule). He played a crucial role in challenging Mughal dominance and laid the foundation for a sovereign Hindu kingdom.
