The Shiv Sena in its editorial in mouthpiece Saamana wrote, "Some officials were under the false impression that the Fadnavis govt will not go. Important appointments like Police officers, Commissioners, Public Prosecutors were made with the interference of the RSS."

This article comes after Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in an interview with Lokmat said that some officials tried to overthrow the Maharashtra government. Deshmukh later denied the statement saying words were put in his mouth. “This news is completely false... erroneous statements have been put into my mouth. Please see the video clip of the interview and you will realise that I had not said any such thing when I was asked to comment on whether there had been such a move planned by some IPS officers... I had only said that I cannot comment on such things openly,” he said.

"These officials could not stomach the fact that the BJP could not come to power in spite of having 105 MLAs. Rather than asking who were these officials who tried to topple the govt, the important point is who are these sympathisers who wanted BJP govt,?" the Saamana article questioned.

The article further mentions, "The early morning swearing-in that took place must have happened in connivance of some top officials. Some officials that the old regime would want to continue after this began work of protecting their interests. To stay in the good books of the then CM, they even threatened some independent MLAs and those from smaller parties. They were working in a manner as if the entire responsibility of proving majority (for BJP govt) was on their heads."

"If someone is feeling that they can topple the govt with the help of officers then it is foolish. Some of these officers are still serving on top posts. They are behaving in a manner that no one could do anything to them in spite of their role in trying to stop the Thackeray government from coming to power. These tendencies are threats to govt," it said.

The Sena mouthpiece further wrote, "What does one mean by toppling government? Leaking secret information about the govt to the opposition and creating an environment of mistrust within the administration. It’s the duty of the Home Department to keep a watch on such tendencies. If they do that, the future of the govt is good. Officials do not topple governments, they are only plans. But there are enemies in the ranks, one has to be careful."
