In a shocking incident, a man died after setting himself on fire locking his door of his house on the seventh floor of the sea wing of Ritu World in Badlapur in Thane district.The deceased set himself on fire along with his three pet dogs in the bedroom of his house. Three dogs along with the man, were also found dead in the house. The motive behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained.

The victim was identified as Satyaprit Chatterjee, who had rented a flat in the Ritu World building. On Friday evening, Chatterjee set himself on fire by locking his bedroom and placing an iron cupboard in front of the door.

There were also three pet dogs in the bedroom at the time. The fire was so fierce that Chatterjee and his three dogs were completely engulfed in flames. As soon as the fire was reported, the fire brigade smashed the doors of the house and extinguished the fire. After the fire was brought under control, the bodies of Chatterjee and his three dogs were found completely burnt.

Police are investigating the matter further.
