A 4-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 38-year-old man in Nagpada area of Mumbai on August 5. The accused has been arrested by the Police. 

The minor girl's mother has alleged that the wife of the accused, the house owner and another woman tried are trying to protect the accused and demanded their arrest. 

However, while probing the matter the police did not find any involvement of the three women.

According to a report in Indian Express, the crime took place when the victim's mother left the house for work in the morning. She had asked a woman, whose house she rents, to look after her daughter. 

The woman in her statement told police said that when she returned home after three hours to check on her daughter, she found her sleeping."When I woke her up and asked whether she had eaten, the girl informed me that her private parts are paining and that an uncle who lives next door did dirty things to her," the woman stated in her police complaint.

The accused was arrested and the victim was sent for medical examination at JJ Hospital which confirmed rape. 

"My daughter told me that our woman neighbour called her to their house on the pretext of giving her food. Later, she left the room leaving the girl alone with her husband who allegedly raped her. A boy in the neighbourhood saw the incident and informed the wife of the accused, the house owner and another woman. All three women told the boy to ignore what was happening," the woman was quoted as saying.
