Maharashtra: A shocking incident took place on Tuesday night between 10:30 and 11:30 PM at the Gangman Office within the railway station premises in Solapur. A young man, Akash Rangasiddha Rautrao (Res. Forest Railway Lines, Solapur), was brutally attacked with a koyta by his friend, following a heated argument over why he was talking to the attacker’s girlfriend.

The accused, identified as Shankar Kisan Wadkar (Age 30, Res. Bale), allegedly stabbed Akash multiple times on the head, neck, shoulder, and back with a sickle, leaving him seriously injured. He is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the government hospital.

Following the incident, Akash’s mother, Surekha Rangasiddha Rautrao  filed a complaint at Sadar Bazaar Police Station. Based on her statement, a case was registered against Shankar Wadkar under Section 109 of the BNS and Arms Act 4/25. Considering the seriousness of the crime, Faujdar Nitin Shinde and his team acted swiftly, arresting Shankar at 4:35 AM on Wednesday.

According to the complaint, Akash and Shankar were friends. On Tuesday night, the two got into an argument after Shankar questioned Akash about why he was talking to his girlfriend. In a fit of rage, Shankar attacked him with a sickle, causing severe injuries.
