Local train services in the state have been closed for the past year due to the increasing covid cases. No one is allowed to travel by local except for essential service personnel. Due to this policy of the state government, general public are facing issues in traveling to their work places. There is nothing wrong with private transport, right? There is no money recovery involved in it, right? There is no Sachin Waze in this too, right? such questions were raised by BJP chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhyay on Monday.

Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai today, Keshav Upadhyay said that the government had invited tenders for the purchase of the vaccine. From Facebook Live, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had said that he was ready to pay a lump sum check for 12 crore doses. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi saved that money by announcing free vaccination for all. So give the remaining money as transport allowance to the general public otherwise start Mumbai local trains.

The central government has shown readiness to start local for Mumbaikars. The state government should formulate policies on whether to take both doses or one dose of vaccine. He demanded that Mumbaikars should be allowed to travel by local or else Rs 5,000 per month should be given to them as transport allowance.

Also, records of Mumbaikars traveling for work can be obtained. Their records are kept at the company in which they work. The state government needs to work hard for this. This government gives packages to autorickshaw drivers and but they should announce how many people have received packages. It is the only state in the country which did not provide any assistance to the common man during the Covid period. Mumbai, Thane has voted for Shiv Sena in full majority, now Keshav Upadhyay has asked Shiv Sena to pay it back.

The financial burden on Mumbaikars has increased. Journalists cannot travel by local trains. The government does not show the courtesy of giving passes to journalists. The cost of taxi and bus is huge. Employees have to go to work to retain their jobs. Therefore, Upadhyay said that transport allowance should be started for these Mumbaikars.
