Thousands of migrant workers gathered at Suncity grounds of Vasai on Tuesday, waiting for their turn to go to Vasai railway station and board trains to their native places.

Thousands of migrant workers gathered at Suncity grounds of Vasai on Tuesday, waiting for their turn to go to Vasai railway station and board trains to their native places.

According to the Railway department, six Shramik Special trains for Uttar Pradesh are leaving from the Vasai railway station today. Out of the total trains, three will leave for Jaunpur, One for Gorakhpur, and two for Bhadoi.

Earlier, the Indian Railways on Monday said that in all 3,060 'Shramik Special' trains had been operationalised from various States across the country till May 25.

The government has allowed the operation of Shramik special trains for the purpose of repatriation of stranded people amid the coronavirus lockdown, which has now been extended till May 31.
