Shiv Sena UBT Leader Sanjay Raut, reacting to Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar's death in a charter plane crash landing, said that the reports of such incidents should be released and the truth should be shared with all. Referring to the Baramati plane crash that took live of five people, including Ajit Pawar, and the Air India plane crash that took over 200 lives in June 2025, Sanjay Raut demanded that the report's findings of such accidents should be made public. He said that in the Air India plane crash, former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani lost his life, and in such crash incidents Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) forms a team to investigate the accident, but the findings are never shared with the public. Just condolences are not enough; the public should also learn the reason behind such crashes, said Sanjay Raut.

Sanjay Raut made the following remarks while addressing a press conference, “Such a major accident occurred in Ahmedabad. What happened? An investigation was launched, but has anything come to light? So many chartered flight accidents have occurred, and so many people have died... The truth should be revealed to us, to the public. A towering leader like Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, was a popular leader. Yesterday, he died in a plane crash. Not only Maharashtra, but the entire country is in shock. How did this happen? What technical fault was there? This should come to light. If there was a technical fault in the flight, a problem with the radar system, or something at the airport, then what? What will be achieved by sending condolences? If the accident occurred due to technical issues, we all need to identify the root causes.”

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was accorded full state honours at his residence in Katewadi on Thursday (January 29, 2026), ahead of his last rites scheduled to be held at the Vidya Pratishthan ground in Baramati at 11 a.m., where his mortal remains are being taken. Ajit Pawar, along with four others, lost his life on Wednesday (January 28) when a Bombardier Learjet 45 aircraft crashed in Pune district while he was travelling from Mumbai to Baramati to address public meetings for the February 5 zilla parishad election campaign. The nephew of Sharad Pawar and cousin of MP Supriya Sule, he is survived by his mother Ashatai Pawar, wife and Rajya Sabha MP Sunetratai Pawar, and sons Parth and Jay Pawar.
