Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray visited Raigad distrist's Alibag and took stock of the damages caused by Cyclone Nisarga on Friday.

The visit comes a day after the CM held a video conference with the authorities to monitor the situation in the aftermath of the cyclone and asked the authorities to complete the 'panchnamas' or inspection and submit a report on the damages caused by Nisarga within two days.

CM Thackeray has aannounced that, "In Raigad district, an immediate inquiry has been ordered into the damage caused by Cyclone Nisarga and Rs 100 crore will be provided as emergency relief."

Noting that six persons have lost their lives due to the natural disaster, Thackeray directed officials to provide aid of Rs 4 lakh to the family of the deceased.
