The ruling Trinamool Congress today announced its list of 291 candidates for the forthcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present while announcing the list of Trinamool Congress candidates.

She declared her candidature from Nandigram constituency. On the occasion, Mamata Banerjee thanked various regional parties in the country for supporting the Trinamool Congress. Bengal CM while thanking the political parties for support made special mention of Shiv Sena.

Talking to media, Mamata Banerjee said, "I thank Tejaswi Yadav, Arvind Kejriwal, Hemant Soren and Shiv Sena for supporting Trinamool Congress for the West Bengal Assembly elections."

TMC and BJP have been at loggerheads ahead of the Assembly polls in Bengal. There has been an exodus of leaders from TMC to BJP in recent months.

Shiv Sena on Thursday announced it's decision that the party will not be contesting West Bengal polls, and stand in solidarity with Mamata Banerjee, tweeted party leader Sanjay Raut.
