Nationalist Congress Party's chief Sharad Pawar had claimed Anil Deshmukh was admitted to hospital due to Covid-19 during the period in which former Mumbai police chief Param Bir Singh claimed the Home Minister met Waze, who has been arrested by the NIA in the Mukesh Ambani bomb scare case.
Now NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik has levelled allegations against Parambir. Nawab Malik has also denied the BJP's allegation that he Deshmukh met Waze and held a press conference. Opposition leaders Devendra Fadnavis and Sudhir Mungantiwar are making false allegations.
When Anil Deshmukh was discharged from the hospital on February 15, there were some journalists outside the hospital. They wanted to talk to Deshmukh. As Deshmukh felt weak, he took a chair and sat down, while reporters interacted with him, Malik said. Deshmukh did not call any press conference. He reached Mumbai on a chartered flight and was quarantined at home till the 27th.
On the allegations made by Parambir Singh and the demand for a CBI inquiry, Malik said, "he has been making various statements since he was transferred. We also know why he was doing this. He went to Delhi. We also know who he met there. We will tell you when the right time comes. Everything has a time, everything will be revealed in the right time," Malik said.
Param Bir Singh on Saturday wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray claiming Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's involvement in severe "malpractices". In his letter, Singh said that he has been "made a scapegoat to divert attention from the actual wrongdoers".
